Good news for Joe Biden (and America)

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The March jobs report shows the continued growth and strength of our economy with another upward trajectory. In March, we added 303,000 jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to 3.8%. According to MSNBC, our jobless rate has been below 4% for 26 consecutive months, which hasn’t happened since the 1960s. This is good news for the country. According to the report, wage growth continues to outpace inflation. Instead of shouting this great news for the country from the rooftops, Republicans are silent. Do they want Donald Trump back in office so badly that they’re unwilling to wish the country well? No, they just hate that this is happening under President Joe Biden’s administration. Republican voters should think long and hard before returning these people to Washington. They are not there for the good of our country or they would celebrate this news as well.

MSNBC also reported that neither McConnell nor Johnson have said a word about the jobs report and the numbers it contained. In fact, they made no public comments at all. As the outlet said, Republicans have “spent nearly all of the Biden era pretending not to notice extraordinarily good job growth.” Of course, Trump says the country and its economy are a “cesspool.” We can only assume they are keeping quiet to not override Trump’s false claims. Let’s face it: that’s par for the course for them. In fact, the RNC recently issued a statement that Americans are “worse off” under President Biden, when that is obviously not true. As MSNBC further pointed out: “Economic growth is healthy; economic confidence is growing; the stock market is up; wages are up; the job market looks great; and the United States is experiencing the world’s best post-pandemic recovery.” Republicans don’t want their voters to hear any of this or they may send them packing, as they should. Republicans have not done nothing to contribute to these numbers, but they also seem to wish things weren’t so great. Who wants that type of leadership? Leadership that lies, hides the truth, and refuses to be a part of things that are beneficial to the country is no leadership at all. Even the Heritage Foundation’s Stephen Moore, who is aligned with the Trump campaign, told Politico: “I think that is the question of the day. You can’t blame the president when policies go wrong, and then say he’s not responsible if things are going right.”

When he entered office, President Joe Biden made it his mission to improve life for every American, whether they voted for him or not. Now, he’s kept that promise, but some people don’t want to hear it. Interestingly, the baby boomers apparently hear it as they are currently on track to make President Biden the first Democrat since Al Gore to carry the senior vote. Boomers are now 70% of the senior vote, according to the New York Times’ Nate Cohn. People typically become more conservative in their older years, but perhaps this group has figured out that Biden’s leadership is best for the country.
