Good news for Joe Biden

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Palmer Report predicted that the media would likely stop focusing on a lot of President Biden’s polling once the news that the former guy was facing indictments became more of a story. Now, we’re at a point where it’s not even just limited to Donald Trump facing legal trouble – a whole lot of state legislators appear to be going down with him, along with much of his former administration.

The 2024 campaign has hardly kicked off and we’re already seeing that happen – with a lot of the country being reminded yet again how terrible Donald Trump and the GOP are for the country overall. At the same time, President Biden and the Democrats are continuing to fight battles successfully on behalf of the American people and we’re seeing a whole lot of polling that consistently show President Biden ahead. A Monmouth University poll shows him leading by seven points over Donald Trump in a potential rematch.

I never really like to weigh the significance of one poll, but this is important for another reason: It’s the third national poll to show President Biden ahead by four points or more – a popular vote victory he would need in order to avoid any potential electoral college upsets. What’s significant is that this poll also showed third party candidates not making a difference in the outcome – as they rarely manage to ever actually do, with President Biden beating out any potential third party candidate by seven points as well.

This doesn’t mean any of us should rest easy – quite the opposite, with numbers still in single digits – but it shows that if we show up to vote, we win – it’s just a matter of putting in the work, but fortunately President Biden has a great deal of progress to run on in 2024.
