Everyone piles on after Donald Trump mistakenly tweets about a gong
Donald Trump is on one of those late night benders on Twitter, where he frantically lashes out at everyone and everything, because his scandals have overtaken the news cycle, and he’s desperately trying to change the subject. He started off by lashing out at everyone from Hillary Clinton to John Brennan, but only by posting quotes from his own lackeys. Then he tried something different, and he immediately came to regret it.
Trump attacked New York Governor Andrew Cuomo by taking one of Cuomo’s recent quotes out of context, and using all capital letters to try to get his point across. Here’s the quote in question: “WE’RE NOT GOING TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, IT WAS NEVER THAT GREAT.” Again this was out of context, and Cuomo was trying to say something entirely different than how Trump is presenting it here. But the real problem is that Trump mistakenly tweeted “WE’RE NOT GONG.”
That’s right, Donald Trump had his very own late night gong show. He ended up deleting it and posting it again, but suffice it to say that quite a few people noticed the swap-out. One respondent on Twitter replied with “We ALL saw the “GONG” spelling error. You’re still going to get GONGED!” Another piled on with “GONG GONG THE WICKED TWITCH IS SENILE.” Others simply posted images of gongs.
Typos happen. But Donald Trump is supposed to be the President of the United States. He has unlimited resources at his disposal. He could have a dozen people standing at his side, checking over everything he decides to tweet. Instead he’s just sitting alone in bed, posting increasingly unhinged things, in all capital letters no less, while accidentally including something about a “gong.” This guy needs immediate psychological attention.
