Go to hell, Liz Cheney

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Over the weekend, Palmer Report explained that Donald Trump appeared to be trying to create a disaster in Syria in order to give Congress added motivation to oust him from office as soon as possible, and thus perhaps offer him an immunity deal. After all, such a deal is the only possible way Trump can avoid spending the rest of his life in prison.

Now it turns out Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney, who is a monster but is no dummy, appears to believe Trump is doing this for the same reason we do. She’s now asserting that Trump really is creating the mess in Syria in response to the fact that he’s being impeached and his presidency is collapsing.

The trouble is, because Cheney is indeed a monster with a completely upside down sense of right and wrong, she’s blaming the Democrats for the deadly Syria mess because they dared to start the impeachment process against him for his crimes. No really, she said this. Cheney really is trying to spin Trump’s actions as somehow being the fault of the Democrats, when her Republican Party could oust Trump from office tomorrow if it wanted to.

If you melted down Dick Cheney, and all the worst pieces of him then re-formed into a new and even worse person, it would be Liz Cheney. She’s not wrong about why Donald Trump is doing what he’s doing. But she’s mind numbingly, disgustingly wrong about whose fault it is, and who bears responsibility for doing something about it.
