Hey Donald Trump, go to hell
Donald Trump “wrote” a book called Art of the Deal, which we all know he couldn’t have written for two distinct reasons: (1) he’s barely literate and (2) he’s one of the worst businessmen on the planet. When thinking about Donald Trump the “president,” his next book should be called Art of the Insult, as he is very good at that. He insults people he doesn’t like, people who don’t like him, and sometimes, he inadvertently insults people he claims to like.
Trump said from the Oval Office today that “Jewish people that vote for a Democrat—I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.” Disloyalty to whom, Trump? Of course he’s referring to himself and the fact that 70-plus percent of Jewish voters voted for Hillary Clinton and not Trump in 2016. I hope Jewish people are paying attention to the man who proclaims to love Israel and its people. You are merely another political point for him.
Last week, Trump encouraged Israel to ban Representatives Omar and Tlaib from Israel. His buddy Bibi Netanyahu, another evil man, was only too happy to oblige. Tlaib wanted to visit her 90-year-old grandmother, whom she has not seen in five or six years and whom she is afraid she won’t have many more opportunities to visit. As he does so well, Trump then denied that he had anything to do with them being banned. Really? I guess he doesn’t think tweeting that allowing them to visit would show “great weakness” on the part of Israeli leaders. What is wrong with this man? Is he schizophrenic? No, just evil.
After all of his grandstanding on the Tlaib and Omar issue, as well as moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem and recognizing Israel’s claim over the Golan Heights territory, he then turns around and insults Jewish people by basically calling them stupid and disloyal. Yet, he is the one who following the Nazi rally in Charlottesville called them “fine people,” even as they displayed signs with anti-Semitic rhetoric. He is the same man who has emboldened white nationalists, who are certainly no friends of the Jewish people any more than they are friends of blacks, Latinos, and Hispanics. The Executive Director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America, Halie Soifer, called him out on it. “If this is about Israel, then Trump is repeating a dual loyalty claim, which is a form of anti-Semitism. If this is about Jews being ‘loyal’ to him, then Trump needs a reality check,” Soifer said to the Hill. Way to slam dunk him. The sad part, however, is that Trump won’t even get what Soifer is saying. Plenty of Jewish people do.
The way that Trump goes around, insulting and inflaming different people is unprecedented. He already has an historically low approval rating, and this type of behavior doesn’t help him. Good. He should keep doing what he’s doing through the 2020 elections. The more people he alienates, the less votes he’ll get. Go to hell, Donald Trump. Please, go home.
