Donald Trump gives away that Robert Mueller is about to pounce

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

It’s Friday night, and in the Donald Trump criminal scandal era, that usually means major news. Despite huge clues dropped in three different court filings over the past twenty-four hours that everything is going to explode within the next several days, it’s been a comparatively quiet evening for Trump-Russia news thus far. That was, of course, until Trump went and tipped off that Mueller is about to pounce.

Remember back before the midterm elections, when Donald Trump was obsessed with mischaracterizing a Central American migrant caravan in scary and racist fashion? He stopped talking about it entirely, the minute he lost the midterms. After all, the entire narrative was never anything more than a failed election stunt. But now, suddenly, out of nowhere, Trump is breaking glass in case of emergency.

Trump just posted this bizarre meltdown: “Isn’t it ironic that large Caravans of people are marching to our border wanting U.S.A. asylum because they are fearful of being in their country – yet they are proudly waving their country’s flag. Can this be possible? Yes, because it is all a BIG CON, and the American taxpayer is paying for it!” At this point there is, of course, only one reason he would be desperate enough to try to reignite this dormant narrative.

Donald Trump clearly thinks that Robert Mueller is about to make a move tonight or tomorrow, and he’s hoping that his new caravan rant will prompt the media to divert some of its coverage. We don’t think the media will bite, but it’s clear that Trump has decided he’s in desperate need of a media distraction for the next twenty-four hours. What does he know that we don’t?
