The dead giveaway that Robert Mueller already has Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani nailed
When Rudy Giuliani made the unintentionally hilarious announcement that he was informally joining Donald Trump’s legal defense team in the Trump-Russia criminal scandal, we all knew he was up to something. He’s an alleged co-conspirator in that scandal, and he’s using this as an attempt at somehow getting himself off the hook. Even before Rudy went on Fox News last night and began confessing to Trump’s guilt, Robert Mueller had already made it clear that he had them both nailed.
Considering how absurd it is for Giuliani to be acting as Trump’s legal representative, various people have asked why Robert Mueller was actually willing to take a meeting Giuliani this past week. The short answer is that Trump named Giuliani his legal representative, and so that’s who Mueller has to meet with. If Trump had named Dennis Rodman his new legal representative, Mueller would have had to meet with Dennis Rodman. That’s just how these things work. There’s only one exception.
Mueller could have gone into court and challenged Trump’s right to use an alleged co-conspirator like Giuliani as his legal representative. The conflict of interest is off the chart, so Mueller would have had a good case to make. But Mueller didn’t even bother. Instead he promptly sat down with Giuliani and began talking. That’s the dead giveaway. Mueller likes this latest development.
If Robert Mueller thought there were any possible way that Donald Trump and Rudy Giuliani could use this latest farce to somehow get themselves off the legal hook, he never would have embraced it. Instead, this is a giveaway that Mueller already has both these guys nailed, and he’s allowing this farce to proceed because he thinks it’ll merely speed things up on his end. Giuliani’s performance on Fox News last night is evidence that Mueller is indeed playing this one correctly.
