Give it a rest, Mehdi Hasan

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan is now claiming that because of President Joe Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas situation, all of his friends and family are now refusing to vote for Biden in 2024. Hasan seems to be holding this up as proof that Biden is in trouble.

It’s hilarious that Hasan, who has spent years hyperbolically bashing Biden and other Democrats to anyone who will listen, is now turning around and claiming that no one likes Biden anymore. Hasan is entitled to whatever opinion of Biden he wants. So are his family and friends. But has Hasan not considered the possibility that he’s the one who turned his family and friends against Biden?

Mehdi Hasan is really good at nailing corrupt Republicans in hostile interview situations. But he then turns around and routinely hyperbolically bashes the Democrats in a seeming attempt at appearing impartial. Hasan has spent years trying to take the legs out from under whoever has been the most prominent Democratic Party figure at the time, whether it was then-President Barack Obama, or candidate Hillary Clinton, or now President Joe Biden.

Enough is enough. Again, Hasan can have any opinion he wants of Joe Biden, and of the Israel-Hamas situation. But when he goes around obsessively bashing Biden, and then acts like it’s happenstance that the people in his personal life have turned against Biden, what does he want us to believe the cause and effect is?

Moreover, why do perpetually negative commentators like Mehdi Hasan never have a solution for anything? He bashes the Democrats, then uses it as a basis for telling us the Democrats are going to lose, then tells us how awful it’s going to be when the Republicans win. But how is that supposed to convince anyone to do anything but give up all hope and stare at their screen in paralyzed fear?
