Donald Trump hands major new gift to Vladimir Putin

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has spent all week reminding us that he’s a puppet of the Saudi royal family. Now he’s finding a way to remind us that he’s also a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In fact Trump just handed Putin a stunning new gift aimed at allowing Russia to run wild with its arsenal.

Trump announced today that he’s ending a longstanding nuclear treaty with Russia, which dates back to the days of the Soviet Union, and was first signed by Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. Trump says he’s ripping up the treaty because Russia is in violation of it. By all accounts Russia has indeed been incrementally violating the treaty. But by ripping it up, Trump is handing Putin an excuse to be much more aggressive with his nuclear arsenal going forward. It’s like saying that you’re going to punish speeders by getting rid of the speed limit entirely.

What stands out here is that Donald Trump is being so blatant about this just before the midterm elections. It’s as if Vladimir Putin has decided to push Trump into giving him one more major gift right now, in case the Democrats win the midterms and are then quickly able to cripple Trump’s ability to continue giving away the store.

Mikhail Gorbachev is coming out strongly against Donald Trump’s decision to rip up the nuclear treaty. If Ronald Reagan were still around, he’d surely be doing the same. Trump is weakening the United States by the day, in the hope of keeping his overseas puppet masters happy.
