Get used to it, Donald

Donald Trump is up in arms, claiming that he’s expended campaign funds to battle President Joe Biden. Now that Kamala Harris is emerging as the presumptive nominee, he wants his money back. He called it “fraud.” Perhaps the problem for Trump is that he should be fighting policies, not people. Harris and Biden are on the same team and want the same things, so the policies haven’t changed. Business Insider (“BI”), instead, believes that because President Biden dropped out, Trump’s choice of vice president may not have been the best. BI backed up its belief with four political scientists, who told the outlet that “there’s good reason to regret the choice.”

Tim Alberta of the Atlantic tweeted out that Trump’s allies are “second-guessing” JD Vance, whom they said was “a selection borne of cockiness, meant to run up margins with the base in a blowout rather than persuade swing voters in a nail-biter.” They apparently thought Vance would help solidify the MAGA vote, but that’s stupid. MAGA will support Trump regardless of his running mate. They’re voting for Trump. Besides, all his potential nominees are MAGA candidates. If that’s why Trump chose Vance, he’s a bigger idiot than at first thought. Angelia R. Wilson, author of “The Politics of Hate,” said that presumptive nominee Harris exposes weaknesses in the Trump/Vance ticket. Now that they can no longer criticize Biden’s age and competency, they’ve got to come up with a new plan, and Harris being Black and female isn’t going to cut it. Vance is trying, though, calling her a “childless cat lady” who is “miserable in her own life” with no “direct stake” in the country. He’s out of touch, isn’t he?

Democrats are embracing Harris, and though we know how unpredictable they can be, the polls are reflecting a rise in the numbers. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released earlier this week shows Harris besting Trump by two points, which is, of course, within the margin of error. Considering she just entered the race, this is good news for Harris. Even the bond market is reacting, according to MarketWatch. Similarly, Barron’s reported that Trump’s stock has dropped because of Harris’ lead in the poll. It’s all due to the excitement Harris has raised by entering the race. The Ipsos/Reuters poll was released merely two days after President Biden dropped out and endorsed Harris. Coincidence? Not likely.

Because Republicans are generally useless and have no platform that benefits the America people, they typically resort to name-calling, race-baiting, and anything else short of discussing the issues that need attention. Their House leader, Mike Johnson, has warned them to stop making racial comments about Harris. According to Politico, several members commented behind closed doors that Harris is the “DEI” candidate. Tim Burchett (R-TN) made that comment while Glenn Grothman (R-WI) asked if Democrats are standing by Harris “because of her ethnic background.” These comments are not only uncalled for, but they are untrue. Leave it to Republicans to try to find some reason other than competence for Harris’ rise to the top. They might want to get used to it.
