Geraldo Rivera goes hilariously off a cliff while trying to stop Donald Trump’s impeachment

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Remember back when Geraldo Rivera was a legitimate journalist? Neither do we, though there may have been a good five minutes in there a few decades ago. These days he’s yet another failed talking head who’s landed on Fox News because there’s nowhere else to go. Now Geraldo has decided to become the poster boy for just how clear it is to Trump’s own allies that impeachment is coming, and that there’s nothing they can do to stop it.

To give you an idea of just how much the inevitability factor of Donald Trump’s impeachment has sunk in on all sides, here’s what Geraldo Rivera tweeted last night: “Fair Warning, as I did with Bill Clinton in 1997-8, I tonight announce that if you want to impeach this president on these facts you’ll have to come through me.” This bit of idiocy promptly blew up in Geraldo’s face so badly, his name began trending on Twitter as the punchlines about him poured in. But this isn’t about him.

Geraldo Rivera is a stooge who either posted this tweet out of pure frustration over Donald Trump’s upcoming impeachment, or he posted this because he mistakenly thinks this makes him look cool. Either way, Trump’s defenders have nothing left. Last night Rudy Giuliani was reduced to accusing Robert Mueller of not being a gifted public speaker (has Rudy seen any of the footage from his own recent television appearances?), while Newt Gingrich was busy tweeting this slop pile of failed keystrokes: “Muller tried today to have iut boith ways. If he thought President Trumpo was guilty…”

You get the point. Impeachment is coming, Donald Trump can’t do anything to stop it, and neither can his supporters. The only question now is how it plays out for everyone involved. The frantic fatalism on display from Trump’s allies gives away that they think what comes next is going to cause real damage to what’s left of Trump’s illegitimate presidency.
