George Takei just destroyed Kevin McCarthy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is in over his head, and he just keeps digging a deeper hole. He came out against the January 6th commission when he realized he was likely going to be subpoenaed as a witness, but 35 members of his own caucus defied him and voted for it anyway.

Now McCarthy is trotting out that old tired ridiculous Republican argument that anyone who opposes them is somehow a “socialist.” Actor and activist George Takei was having none of it:

George Takei also had this to say about another important issue: “If lawmakers truly are concerned about protecting teens who might be uncertain about whether or how to transition, the last thing they should do is criminalize in-state therapy. Don’t drive kids to the Internet alone to provide medical and psychological guidance.”
