George Takei, Carl Reiner, Rita Moreno and Harry Belafonte team up to send a message to Mitch McConnell
Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats are trying to ensure the entire nation can vote by mail in November, due to the pandemic. Even some Republican governors are making it easier to vote by mail. But Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans are opposed to voting by mail, because they’re afraid that making it easier to vote will cause them to lose.
Now a group of beloved senior citizens are teaming up to send McConnell a message. George Takei, Carl Reiner, Rita Moreno and Harry Belafonte all appear in this video in support of mail-in voting, and at the end they urge everyone to call McConnell’s office about it (if the video below doesn’t play on your device, go here instead):

It's been a pleasure working with @robreiner on this video, and an honor to feature in it living legends @carlreiner, Rita Moreno, @GeorgeTakei, & Harry Belafonte. Their quite reasonable message to Congress: "Although we're dying to vote, we'd much rather just vote, and not die!" pic.twitter.com/zexpiQoxm4

Mitch McConnell won’t want to cave on mail-in voting. But overwhelming public pressure has already forced McConnell to cave on a financial relief package that he didn’t want to support. So if we keep pressuring him, he could cave again. At this point, with Donald Trump’s toxic unpopularity tying his hands, McConnell is short on options.
