George Santos: “Catch Me If You Can”
“Catch Me If You Can” is a 2002 film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. It is about a con artist — the ultimate con artist. Based on a true story, the man cons his way through life, posing as everything from a doctor to a pilot to a Prosecutor.
He is VERY convincing. And people believe him. Many people believe him and fall for his schtick but not the able FBI agent on his trail. The movie shows the art of the con well. And that’s important. Con artists must always be dealt with. Why is nobody dealing with the con artist who just won a seat in the Republican party?
George Santos. George Santos is not a good con artist. He isn’t like the man in the film. And he was caught pretty quickly. And it’s all the Democrats’ fault. According to the media. I have never seen such a media smear job as what is going on now. George Santos — assuming that’s even his real name –has lied about:
Where he worked.
His marital status.
Where he graduated
Losing employees in the Pulse nightclub shooting. (This one is particularly evil.)
Having Jewish grandparents who fled Europe during the Holocaust.
His financial debt.
Running an animal charity.
Owning certain property.
Basically — just about everything of importance. Undoubtedly, this is a bad apple — the most rotten type. So one would think — that would be the story. Nope. Here is what the media is howling about: Why didn’t Democrats find this out? Where is their oppo research? How could Democrats not know?
What I’d like to say to the media is not suitable to print. So let me say this: Research costs money. This was a local race that was only decided as to candidates shortly before the midterms, and that’s because of all the Gerrymandering issues in New York.
There were some very sophisticated lies being told. To uncover all of them would have taken money. And time. A lot of time. And a whole lot of travel. The Democratic candidate did not have the time and money needed to investigate everything. How do I know this? Because he appeared on television and said so himself.
And some of the lies were out there. The media didn’t report on them. But that is not stopping the media. I’ve yet to hear many ask the most obvious question. Did the GOP know, and if not, why not? Don’t they vet their candidates? And why aren’t they speaking out?
