George Conway slam dunks Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

George Conway has written several op-eds, both with Neal Katyal and on his own, about Donald Trump and the disaster he is. In recent days, Conway, who is of course married to Kellyanne, has openly declared support for the Democratic opponent of Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who has been seen lately trying to be the distractionist and apologist for Trump during the House impeachment hearings. Now, the fight has gone to Twitter and it is fun to watch, and Conway is becoming a hero of sorts.

Stefanik wrote on Twitter: “And for you @gtconway3d- the one thing I’ve NEVER been called in my life is TRASH. You need serious help. My opponent Taxin’ Tedra can have your sick misogynist support.”

To which Conway simply responded: “Well, now you have. You tell lies to defend a psychologically unstable man who calls people “scum” for telling the truth about him. Good luck with your campaign.”

What started this spat was a tweet by Stefanik: “One again, Adam Schiff flat our REFUSES to let duly elected Members of Congress ask questions to the witness, simply because we are Republicans. His behavior is unacceptable and he continues to abuse his Chairmanship. Watch [tv and arrow emojis]”

Conway called her out on it, tweeting: “Every voter in the New York’s 21st Congressional District should know that the tweet below is a bald-faced lie, and that @EliseStefanik is a bald-faced liar.”

How anything Conway said was misogynistic is a mystery. But it is interesting how, like her leader Trump, Stefanik appears to have a penchant for nicknaming her opponents and for capitalizing words randomly. The only thing that would make Conway more of a hero would be for Wolf Blitzer to ask Kellyanne next time he speaks with her what she thinks about the spat.
