Gavin Newsom destroys Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. On Sunday, Donald Trump decided to double down on one of the dumber things he’s ever said when he reiterated his insistence that California try raking the floors of its forests in order to combat fires. This time around Trump used the word “clean” instead of “rake” but he was clearly referring to the same idiotic raking idea.

In his rant about raking the fires, Donald Trump (falsely and cluelessly) asserted on Twitter that California Governor Gavin Newsom has done a “terrible job” managing the fires. Newsom wasted no time firing back at Trump with this retort: “You don’t believe in climate change. You are excused from this conversation.”

But the California Democrats were just getting started. Senator Kamala Harris piled on with this response: “Raking leaves is as effective at combatting the climate crisis as your phone’s spellcheck is at fixing your tweets. Gavin Newsom is doing his job. Maybe you should try it.”

Congressman Ted Lieu, who represents a district in Los Angeles, added this: “Dear Donald Trump: You are the President for all Americans. Act like it. When a child’s house burns down, the party registration of her parents doesn’t matter. Mother nature does not discriminate based on ideology when she strikes with fires or floods or hurricanes. Get it?”
