Furor erupts surrounding Donald Trump and Linkin Park
On a day when it took him until mid afternoon to even bother acknowledging that Congressman John Lewis passed away, Donald Trump found the time to post a ridiculous campaign video set to a song from the band Linkin Park. This quickly set off a furor in the political realm and the world of music.
Linkin Park’s late singer Chester Bennington hated Donald Trump. Bennington once famously tweeted that Trump was a greater threat to the United States than terrorism. His bandmate Mike Shinoda has also been known to take shots at Trump on Twitter. Furor erupted across the board, prompting “Linkin Park” to being trending atop Twitter.
Donald Trump’s decision to use a Linkin Park song in his campaign video is distasteful as it is illegal. We’re guessing the surviving members of the band will force a copyright takedown soon enough. Other bands, including Nickelback, have also forced Trump promotional videos to be deleted for illegally using their songs.
