Donald Trump, funeral crasher

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Several Jewish leaders have published a letter informing Donald Trump that he’s not welcome in Pittsburgh, due to the role that his violent and antisemitic rhetoric played in this weekend’s deadly shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue. Trump responded by announcing that he would visit Pittsburgh anyway. Then he found a way to make it even worse.

After Donald Trump made clear that he was planning to visit Pittsburgh against the wishes of the city, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto then asked Trump to at least not come on Tuesday, because such a visit would interfere with the funerals being held for the eleven victims. So naturally, Trump announced that he’s going to visit on Tuesday.

It’s jarring enough that Donald Trump has pushed thinly veiled antisemitic rhetoric, denouncing “globalists” – longstanding code for Jews – as recently as the day before the synagogue shooting. Now Trump is trying to make the deadly shooting all about him. He’s planning to crash Pittsburgh on funeral day, knowing full well that he’s going to interfere with the funeral proceedings. Each time we think Trump can’t go any lower, he does. Oh, and it gets worse.

According to a CNN report tonight, Donald Trump will be bringing his daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner with him to Pittsburgh tomorrow. That will require additional law enforcement attention, potentially causing even bigger problems for the funerals taking place tomorrow.
