Roger Stone has weird freak-out as Robert Mueller closes in on him

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller already has at least two, and maybe three, cooperating witnesses testifying that Roger Stone admitted to having communicated with WikiLeaks leader Julian Assange during the election. Now we’re learning that Mueller has hit yet another Stone associate with a subpoena regarding Stone’s actions. Stone seems to know Mueller is closing in on him, as Stone is now freaking out by attacking one of those witnesses and making threats.

Weeks ago, Roger Stone’s former protege Sam Nunberg publicly announced that he had been subpoenaed to testify against Stone for a Robert Mueller grand jury. Nunberg initially vowed not to testify, but did end up testifying. It was then reported that Nunberg and another unnamed Stone associate had both testified against Stone. Stone associate Randy Credico then publicly came out against Stone; it’s still unclear if Credico was the unnamed second witness, or if he’s a third. Today it was reported that Mueller’s team detained yet another Stone associate, Ted Malloch, and questioned him about Stone. Suffice it to say that Stone isn’t taking this news well.

Roger Stone has now appeared in a weird new video, asserting that his (apparently now former) friend Sam Nunberg is a “cocaine addict.” Stone is also threatening to sue any news outlet that “takes anything he says seriously.” This appears to be an attempt at dissuading cable news networks from continuing to book Nunberg as a guest. In a particularly weird and telling moment, Stone ruefully yells “Coke head!” at the end of the video.

Of course it doesn’t matter what the media or the public thinks about the legitimacy of any claims made about Roger Stone by the likes of Sam Nunberg, or Randy Credico, or Ted Malloch. All that matters is how the grand jury ends up viewing any such testimony. Stone’s weird freak-out suggests that he fears he’s about to end up getting indicted by the grand jury, which would give Robert Mueller the greenlight to arrest him.
