Fox stooge Maria Bartiromo melts down

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Maria Bartiromo is hardly distinguishable from the average right-wing pundit in terms of her daily rage and bizarre rants about President Biden or conspiracy theories on just about everything from Hunter to COVID. She’s generally not worth listening to on anything – even the stuff that’s in her job description that she’s supposed to cover on Fox Business. She did, however, have a meltdown this week that’s noteworthy not necessarily because of what was said but why she said it. The source of the meltdown, of course, was President Biden’s recent remarks in which he rightfully painted the modern GOP as the face of extremism.

“I was referring to what Biden said about MAGA … are the most dangerous group in American history — and then he says, in recent American history. I mean, so, more dangerous than the Black Lives Matter, more dangerous than the Nazis, I mean, more dangerous than ISIS terrorists?”

Aside from the incoherence and the outrageously offensive nature of the rant – as she brings up two terrorist groups that aren’t even American in her comparison, it’s clear what has her so enraged. Republicans aren’t used to being taken to task for routinely gaslighting the American people. Many are even celebrating the Jan 6 insurrection not so privately. It means that the messaging – referring to Trumpers as “Ultra MAGA” extremists – which is what they are and have always been – is working and they don’t like being called out for what they are. Let’s push harder and keep them on the defensive like this – while driving up voter registration and turn out to win in 2022.
