Fox News calls Arizona for Joe Biden
For awhile there tonight, it was looking like Joe Biden’s path to victory would require him to win Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The good news is that he’s in strong position to win all three states (current “red mirage” numbers notwithstanding). The hard part is that it leaves him little room for error โ and he can’t lose any of the 2016 blue states in the process.
Now Joe Biden just got some breathing room. Fox News has called the state of Arizona for Biden. MSNBC and CNN are still characterizing Arizona as too early to call. But if Fox is correct โ and we can’t imagine Fox would jump the gun in favor of a Democrat โ then it gives Biden multiple paths to victory.
Meanwhile, we won’t start to get any meaningful numbers in Wisconsin, Michigan, or Pennsylvania until at least early tomorrow morning. For now, the “red mirage” numbers on your TV screen from those three states are heavily skewed in favor of same-day in-person voting, which means they’re artificially skewed toward Trump. Just ignore them for now.
