Fox News bottoms out

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I wrote an article not long ago that you may remember. In it, I spoke of abortion and warned that the push against the rights of everyday Americans wouldn’t end there. And indeed, it hasn’t. Book-banning. Mickey Mouse banning. It appears everywhere we look; there is more talk of banning something.

The GOP — the “supposed” anti-cancel culture party has revealed itself to be the biggest, noisiest, cry-babyish group of cancel culture connoisseurs in the country. And this brings me to something new whose potential cancellation was discussed in earnest on the dreadful show “Outnumbered” on Fox non-news.

This would be the total and complete cancellation of public school systems. I kid you not. And you can’t possibly be surprised, my friends. Evil begets more evil. Hate begets more hate. The discussion came about because of a school firing of an athletic coach leading prayer sessions. This case is now in front of the Supreme Court.

The panel discussed in earnest how wrong the school was. Then they moved on to why not just cancel public school. Kennedy, a Fox sycophant, had these intellectually stimulating words to say: “This will be a very important case for religious liberty, but also may be a great time in our country’s history where we rethink whether or not we have public schools.”

It isn’t all that surprising that the Fox non-hosts would get around to public schools as the enemy. They can’t stand anyone. They hate everybody. Their platform — think about it — it’s one long vintage scowl. That’s it.

This is not about religion, or the children, or the readers. It’s about fascism. It’s about stripping people of their basic rights because deep down — or maybe not so deep — most Republicans don’t think we’re entitled to any. But they’re losing. Obviously, it is absurd to think public schools will be canceled. But if we lose the midterms, other rights will be. That is why it is so essential to win.
