Former Trump lawyer Lin Wood turns sharply against former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell
Former Trump election lawyers Lin Wood and Sidney Powell are both in a bad place these days, due to their bad faith attempts at overthrowing the 2020 election results in court. Now Wood has apparently decided to try to take down Powell, along with some other folks in Trump world.
Lin Wood is now apparently accusing Sidney Powell and former Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne of having misappropriated the money that was supposed to go to the “Stop the Steal” effort. Wood has provided no evidence to support these allegations, but he did post a recording of a strange phone call in which he demanded that Byrne tell him where the money went, and implied that Powell is to blame. In the recorded phone call between Wood and Byrne, Wood stated his belief that Powell is under federal investigation, which could explain why he’s coming out so strongly against her.
There’s no reason for anyone to take any of these “Stop the Steal” types at their word, so if they want to take each other down, they’ll have to produce actual evidence of fraudulent activity – which Wood has not. But the mere fact that some of these folks are trying to take each other down is a sign of just how ugly things are getting for those who tried to overthrow the 2020 election results.
