Former GOP Congressman votes for Joe Biden in effort to stop Donald Trump
There are plenty of Republicans and conservatives who say they want to stop Donald Trump. But how many of them are willing to put their vote where their mouth is? On Tuesday we got an encouraging answer when former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh, a far right conservative, revealed that he voted for Joe Biden in the Illinois Democratic primary race as part of his ongoing effort to stop Trump:
.
I just did it. I just voted in the Democratic Primary for the very 1st time. I voted for Joe Biden. First time I’ve ever voted for a Democrat for President. You see, Donald Trump is a horrible human being. He must be defeated. We all gotta #BeBrave this year to get it done. pic.twitter.com/le5vHtMzDH

Walsh had already publicly committed to voting for the 2020 Democratic nominee, whether it ended up being Biden, Sanders or some other Democrats. Now that Biden is set as the nominee, Walsh says he’s planning to campaign for Biden over Trump in the general election:
Bring it on 2020. I’ve pledged to work my ass off for the Democratic nominee. That looks to be Joe Biden. I am going to go into the battleground states & encourage disaffected Republicans to be brave enough to come out and vote for Biden. Trump must lose. It’s time to #BeBrave.
