Food for thought
One of the questions Kamala Harris always asks is whether we want to live in chaos or whether we want to move toward the future. Proving her point, Donald Trump has once again started chaos, this time in Springfield, OH. Because of Trump’s ridiculous lie that Haitian immigrants are eating people’s pets, a rash of bomb threats have permeated the city. As the Guardian reported, two hospitals went on lockdown this past Saturday because of threats, but that’s not all. Those threats marked the fourth instance in days, which threats included government buildings and the evacuation of local schools. Is Trump remorseful about spreading lies? No. He was too busy writing on Truth Social: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.” His idiot vice-presidential running mate is trying to blame Kamala Harris on the sly, saying that she caused the focus on Springfield. No, the two of you did a fine job of that. One stupid lie has upended the lives of thousands of people. Is this what we expect from a leader? Is this what we want in the White House next year? Two words: HELL NO. Anyone who cannot see through what Trump is doing and goes to vote for him in November is part of the problem.
Following the debate during which Trump spouted those hateful, baseless words, Kamala Harris’s campaign raised $47 million. Trump, on the other hand, continues to lean into conspiracy theories and mentally questionable behavior. He continues to claim he won the debate when millions saw otherwise. What we all saw is what we’ll get in the White House if this buffoon is elected. He also now claims that Kamala Harris had “something in her ear.” What she had in her ears were Tiffany pearl earrings, which Tiffany said they’d be glad to make for Trump, though they said they don’t have many colors that go with orange. He also claims that Harris got the questions ahead of time, which is stupid. The questions were standing, typical questions for a presidential debate. He knew they would ask about the economy, abortion, and the border. Trump basically looks crazier by the day. Perhaps that’s why the latest polls show Kamala Harris with a 5-point lead. It is also why Nathan Clark, whose son Aiden was killed in a vehicular collision in Springfield involving a Haitian immigrant, has demanded that Vance and Trump stop using his son’s name to spread hate. Who wants to live with four more years of this?
CNN’s viewers ranked the debate 63% to 37% in Harris’s favor. A Morning Consult poll puts her at 50% to 45%, an Ipsos poll shows the spread as 47% to 42% in favor of Harris, and RMG Research’s poll gives Harris 51% to Trump’s 47%. Whoever is planning to vote for Donald Trump, let me give you some proverbial “food for thought.” In this election, we can choose chaos, or we can choose unity. We can choose sanity or insanity. We can choose an opportunity economy or a “concept of a plan.” We can choose to move this country forward and send Trump back to Mar-a-Lago for good—at least until he goes to prison.
