Follow the money on this one

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

So here’s the thing. Because Donald Trump is so deeply unpopular, House Republicans keep seeing their November prospects getting worse. They could try having the courage to come out against Trump, but cowardly villains like the House GOP don’t think in those terms. So instead they’re begging the Republican National Committee to bail out their campaigns with cash infusions.

The trouble for them is that the Republican National Committee is now mostly controlled by Donald Trump, his 2020 campaign, and his family members. And it turns out the Trump cartel is refusing to let the RNC provide any real money for House Republican reelection campaigns, even though House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is begging for money.

This is yet another lesson in how poorly things tend to go for people like McCarthy who show such loyalty to Donald Trump. But the bigger question is where the money is going. If Donald Trump and his regime aren’t willing to spend any fundraising money to try to win back House seats, then where is the money going instead? Is it all going into Trump’s campaign? Is it going into Trump’s pocket?

Follow the money on this one, because the money that was supposed to go into House Republican campaigns is going somewhere – and with this gang of thieves, it’s never going anywhere legitimate.
