Florida’s absentee Governor Ron DeSantis finally resurfaces and immediately goes off the deep end

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

After weeks of being missing in action, amid changing stories and contradicting excuses, Florida’s absentee Governor Ron DeSantis decided to hold a press conference yesterday. Suffice it to say that the whole thing ended up playing out in predictable fashion.

Florida Commissioner Nikki Fried, a Democrat who’s running against Ron DeSantis in the 2022 race for Governor of Florida, tweeted this ahead of the DeSantis press conference: “Spoiler: He’ll blame Biden for his own failures, get angry at reporters for asking why state government shut down for two plus weeks while COVID raged, and also find a way to take credit for everyone else’s work trying to keep Floridians and our economy healthy.”

Sure enough, Florida legal expert Daniel Uhlfelder reported this about the press conference: “Ron DeSantis starts his first press conference since December 17, 2021 by blaming his absence last week on Biden and federal government for not providing antibody treatments.”

Of course he did. Ron DeSantis is a cartoon cutout with zero political savvy whose ongoing imitation of Donald Trump is so witless it lacks even Trump’s one dimensional level of brute savvy. DeSantis is lost in the weeds. He’s completely in over his head. And he’s in real danger of losing reelection in Florida in 2022, if you’re willing to put in the work required to defeat him.
