John Bolton and Donald Trump’s White House begin openly feuding, as Bolton’s impeachment testimony becomes more likely
On Monday a federal judge will very likely rule that Don McGahn must testify in the House impeachment inquiry. John Bolton says he’ll testify if the judge rules that McGahn must testify. Now that we’re just a few days away from Bolton’s potential testimony, Bolton is suddenly spicing things up on Twitter – and now the Trump White House is firing back at him.
Earlier today we brought you the story of how John Bolton has begun tweeting for the first time in months, and he’s accusing Donald Trump’s White House of having held his Twitter account hostage all this time. Bolton is directly accusing Trump and his regime of trying to silence him, out of “fear of what I may say.” Now it’s taken another turn.
The White House has released this statement in response: “The White House did not block Mr. Bolton from accessing his personal Twitter account, and wouldn’t have the technical means to do so.” Okay, so now Donald Trump’s White House is accusing John Bolton of lying about his Twitter account. This is getting ugly fast, and it’s all happening in public.
Of course none of us really care who’s to blame for the fact that John Bolton went two and a half months without tweeting anything. What matters here is that Bolton and Donald Trump’s White House are now openly feuding for all to see. Bolton is clearly intent on hyping his feud with Trump right now – and it’s too early for Bolton to be doing this to promote his upcoming book, which won’t surface for awhile. Bolton appears to have concluded that he’s going to soon end up testifying per the judge’s ruling, and so he’s trying to hype it accordingly.
