As the Russia scandal gets uglier, Donald Trump gets into feud with his own National Security Adviser

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has indicted some of the Russians who conspired to rig the election in Donald Trump’s favor, Trump is trying to falsely claim that the indictments somehow prove the Russians had no impact on the outcome. You can count National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster among those who are no longer willing to play along with Trump’s false claim that he was legitimately elected, and now it’s getting ugly.

It began when McMaster said this on Saturday at a security conference, as reported by CNN: “As you can see with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now really incontrovertible and available in the public domain, whereas in the past it was difficult to attribute for a couple of reasons.” That’s perfectly accurate, but it was enough to set Trump off.

Here’s what Trump tweeted in response: “General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!” Trump is flat out lying here. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was careful to specify that it was only these Russians named in these indictments who aren’t known to have had a material impact on the outcome of the election. These aren’t even the Russians who conspired with the Trump campaign.

So now we have Donald Trump openly feuding with his own handpicked National Security Adviser as a direct result of the Russia indictments, and that’s after just one day of fallout. How much uglier will this get inside Trump’s regime?
