Federal judge smacks down Ron DeSantis

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis keeps trying to get ahead by taking pages out of the Trump playbook. There are two problems with this. First, the Trump playbook is so flawed, Donald Trump ended up losing reelection and criminal indictments are closing in on him. Second, DeSantis is far too much of an idiot to figure out how to properly mimic Trump anyway.

Take, for instance, the legislation that Ron DeSantis recently signed which penalizes social media sites that ban political candidates. This was clearly an attempt on DeSantis’ part at flexing his authoritarian muscles.

Trouble is, DeSantis doesn’t have any such muscles. The courts have already put the smackdown on his his attempt at putting the smackdown on social media sites. In general, if you’re going to make a big move like this, you want it to be one that doesn’t immediately blow up in your face.

Ron DeSantis is in over his head. He has delusions about being a 2024 frontrunner for President. But in reality he may not even manage to get reelected in Florida in 2022, as he’s facing stiff competition from Democrats like Nikki Fried. And DeSantis’ scandals and failed antics just keep getting more embarrassing for him.
