Fed up House Republican tells Donald Trump to “stop the stupid”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Palmer Report predicted that as Donald Trump continued to drag out his election loss, more Republican office holders would conclude that he was doing damage to the party, and they’d decide to kick him toward the door.

Sure enough, after Trump posted a particularly insane tweet tonight about contesting the election, House Republican Paul Mitchell posted this tweet: “Oh my God. . @realDonaldTrump. Please for the sake of our Nation please drop these arguments without evidence or factual basis. #stopthestupid”

That’s right, he told Trump to “stop the stupid.” Mitchell is retiring at the end of his term, so he doesn’t have to care what he says. But we’ll see more Republicans in the House and Senate come around to this position in the coming days and weeks – not because they want to do the right thing, but because Trump’s endgame is getting in the way of what they want to do.
