Fani Willis fires up the cooperation deal machine again

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. Fulton County DA Fani Willis picked up a gang of cooperators early on when she convinced eight fake electors to flip in exchange for immunity before she started bringing indictments. She picked up a ninth known cooperator last month when defendant Scott Hall flipped on everyone in exchange for several years of probation. Now Willis is firing up the cooperation deal machine again.

Fani Willis is offering cooperating plea deals to a number of people, including some familiar names and some more obscure names. That includes former Trump campaign official Mike Roman, which isn’t surprising given that Roman is already reportedly cooperating with Jack Smith on the federal level. But that’s just the start.

Willis is also reportedly offering deals to Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, which isn’t surprising given that they’re set to be the first two defendants to go on trial, within a matter of weeks. Given that Hall is going to make for a devastating witness against Powell, this isn’t surprising. If you’re a savvy prosecutor you start by getting Hall to flip on Powell, then use that to try to pressure Powell into flipping on Trump.

So far, neither Powell nor Chesebro nor Roman has accepted the deals they’ve been offered. It’s tricky to predict what they’ll do. But whenever anyone does flip, they always insist they’re never going to flip right up until the moment they flip. Willis will continue to pressure Powell and Chesebro to flip right up until the start of their trial, so don’t be shocked if there’s late breaking news about some kind of deal before the trial begins. It’s how these things so often tend to go.
