Falling apart at the seams

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

One of Donald Trump’s most consistent traits is projection. Whenever he makes an oddly specific accusation against someone else, it nearly always means that he’s the one who’s guilty of it. Trump keeps insisting that Joe Biden isn’t writing his own tweets and speeches, and that they’re instead being written by a bright young man. This is a giveaway that Trump’s own words are now being written for him by a bright young man.

Trump is in a particularly odd place, being fully sociopathic and half senile. His family and/or handlers clearly sat him down after his disinfectant meltdown and explained to him that he’s too far gone to do press briefings anymore. They must have also broken it to him that he’s so far gone, he needs this “bright young man” to script out everything he’s going to publicly say.

Trump surely doesn’t consider himself to be slipping. Even if a rational person might be reluctantly willing to see what’s going wrong with his own mind, Trump is too much of a clinical narcissist for that. He’s presumably only giving in to his handlers when they break the bad news to him about his cognitive state, because he doesn’t think they’re going to give him a choice. But how much longer before he rebels and starts trying to prove to us all that he’s still sharp as a tack?
