Ivanka Trump, failure

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Not to be outdone by her father, the Failing Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump admits defeat and hangs up her clothing and shoe company for good. To spend more time with her family? No one but the most gullible of the Trump claque of drooling monotooths would buy that one.

“After 17 months in Washington,” Ivanka said instead, “I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington.”

The news comes in the wake of yet another major retailer’s announcement that it would abandon the Trump line, this time Canada’s Hudson’s Bay, which joins industry notables such as Nordstrom and Macy’s in defenestrating the Trump logo in the aftermath of consumer disdain.

Ivanka’s about face on her business means across-the-board layoffs at the retailer with immediate effect. That must be what she was most concerned about when she said, “So making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners.” What could be more fair than an immediate trip to the unemployment line, compliments of the feckless Ivanka?

Not so fast, says Shannon Coulter of #grabyourwallet, the organization and social media campaign that is an umbrella term for economic boycotts against companies that have any connections to Donald Trump. Coulter had a different take on the situation. “Yes,” Coulter said, “it’s true: Ivanka Trump is shuttering her fashion line. Things may be close at the polls. They are not at the cash register. The big hearted, fair minded people hold the majority of the consumer power and we vote every single day. #GrabYourWallet”

After all, when it comes to Trump branding, nothing quite recedes like success.
