Exxon pushes back after Donald Trump’s #QuidProQuo confession

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump stood in front of his supporters today and told a very detailed story about using a phone call to ask Exxon for a $25 million campaign donation in exchange for government policy concessions. Of course Trump is so incoherent these days, there has been widespread debate as to whether Trump was confessing to a felony or merely telling yet another self destructive lie.

As the discussion about Donald Trump’s remark reached such a fever pitch that #QuidProQuo began trending on Twitter, even Exxon felt it had to weigh in. The official ExxonMobil account on Twitter posted this: “We are aware of the President’s statement regarding a hypothetical call with our CEO…and just so we’re all clear, it never happened.”

That’s right, Donald Trump has taken his corrupt lunacy and incoherent hallucinations to such an extreme that even a soulless fossil fuel industry company now feels compelled to push back against whatever it was that he was saying today. Trump has gone round the bend and then some.
