Extreme Court

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Well! We’ve had a few victories this week in the extreme Court. The Court ruled that the Indian Welfare Act will be upheld. This was a rather surprising ruling and a welcome one. This Welfare Act was put in place almost 50 years ago. The Court’s ruling was 7-2. Of course, you know who the two holdouts were. The witch connoisseur and the insurrectionist’s husband.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote the majority opinion. The Cherokee Nation Chief appeared delighted, calling this “a major win for tribes.” So yes, this was a week where the extreme court surprised us. Isn’t it wonderful? Perhaps they’ve begun to change. NOT!

This article is a warning. I see people cheering on social media. DO NOT TRUST THIS COURT. I don’t care how many positive rulings we get. I remain convinced that they’re setting us up for a BAD decision or two. And those decisions will come within the next few weeks.

Don’t forget affirmative action is on the table. The Supreme Court has not changed. Remember these words: Leopards don’t change their spots. While I am gratified at this ruling, I do not fall into the trap that the extreme court has sprung. They perhaps want to lull us into a feeling of false security. That cannot happen.

Because the bottom line is this court — at least six of them — are a bunch of crazed right-wingers, and I am guessing they are picking and choosing their battles. But I think we should watch them carefully in the next few weeks. They are not trustworthy, and who knows what they have waiting for us down the line.
