Michael Flynn ended up in front of a sentencing judge this week partly because he took a six figure payoff from Turkey in exchange for trying to take down a guy named Fethullah Gulen in Pennsylvania. Just as Flynn was finally paying the price for this crime, word surfaced that Donald Trump was suddenly looking to extradite Gulen to Turkey. Palmer Report pointed out that Turkey had to have offered to personally compensate Trump in exchange for this, as it’s the only way Trump operates. Now we’re getting some answers.

Today, just one day after Michael Flynn’s hearing, the United States signed off on a $3.5 million missile sale to Turkey. Yes, Turkey is technically our NATO ally, and yes, we sell arms to them. But the timing here can’t be ignored โ€“ particularly considering that we’ve already seen Donald Trump use a U.S. weapons deal with Saudi Arabia as a shady way of compensating himself for doing the Saudi royal family’s bidding in Yemen.

Again, we don’t know precisely how Donald Trump is personally profiting from this arms deal with Turkey. But this is simply how he does these things. We’ve seen it time and again, to the point that after the news surfaced about him seeking to ship Gulen off to Turkey, we knew something like this would surface โ€“ and sure enough, it happened like clockwork.

Interestingly, Donald Trump isn’t even slightly trying to hide it anymore. He could have waited a month to sign this arms deal with Turkey, or he could have signed it now and then waited a month before seeking to turn over Gulen to Turkey. This is the latest sign that Trump appears to understand his remaining time in office is very limited and his ouster could come at any time โ€“ or at least his puppet masters do.
