Expert: Bill Barr is “slipping”

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this week Palmer Report pointed out that ever since Attorney General Bill Barr initially succeeded in getting the media to report that the Mueller report said the opposite of what it actually said, he’s failed in every one of his subsequent pro-Trump antics. This is crucial, because Barr has committed so many obstruction felonies in Trump’s name, he’s just about guaranteed to go to prison once Trump is gone, unless Trump pardons him – and Trump isn’t exactly loyal to his henchmen who fail him.

It turns out we’re not the only ones who see it this way. Various headlines keep insisting that Bill Barr is somehow magically winning (even though he keeps failing at everything he tries), presumably because such headlines serve to scare people into staying tuned in, which is great for ratings. But former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner appeared on the Ari Melber show on MSNBC on Wednesday evening and explained that Bill Barr is “slipping.”

Kirschner pointed out that Barr was clearly beaten to the punch by Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who succeeded in releasing a report which accurately confirms that the FBI was fully justified in launching a criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s criminal enterprise of a 2016 campaign. This has left Barr in the position of meekly whining about how he disagrees with the Inspector General report, which does Trump no good whatsoever.

Bill Barr is very dangerous right now. But it’s not because he’s on some kind of magic winning streak when it comes to his corrupt scheming. Barr is dangerous because he keeps losing. He’s a man who knows that unless he can convince Donald Trump to pardon him, his life is over (unless you count solitary confinement as having a life). Barr is desperate in the extreme. He’ll try even more absurd antics in the name of trying to get back into Trump’s good graces. The only good news is that when people are this desperate, they tend to start acting self-destructively. We’ll see if Barr manages to finish himself off before the post-Trump DOJ can get to him.
