Donald Trump’s “exercise” meltdown isn’t exactly going over well
After Donald Trump went golfing during a pandemic instead of staying home and doing his job, Joe Biden released a new TV ad criticizing Trump for the move. This prompted the easily-baited Trump to stage a complete meltdown on Sunday night about golf, which he said he did for “exercise.” Suffice it to say that this didn’t go over well.
Ask anyone who plays golf and they’ll tell you that if you want to get exercise, you walk the course. There’s no shame in riding around in a golf cart, but when you do it that way there’s very little exercise to be had; all you’re doing is walking a very short distance to the tee and the green.
The video captured of Trump golfing this weekend clearly showed that he was driving himself around in a golf cart while playing. So no, he didn’t go golfing this weekend for “exercise.” He did it for fun, and he’s lying about the reason. Everyone is seeing right through it. The responses are filled with such derision, the word “exercise” is now trending on Twitter.
Also, Trump’s golf trips have served as a thinly veiled opportunity to play at his own courses and then massively overcharge the Secret Service for use of the facilities. The only “exercise” here is an exercise in financial fraud.
