Everyone piles on Kevin McCarthy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Kevin McCarthy’s stupidity is as dense as a rainforest. Only unlike many rainforests, McCarthy’s stupidity is not attractive to see. As the weeks fly by, McCarthy’s increasingly frantic desperation has become almost amusing. But I doubt anybody — certainly not myself — expected what McCarthy did the other day.

This latest Kevin humiliation happened on Friday. Kevin was desperately trying to stop the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. So he decided to make a speech on the floor of the House. This was not a good idea.

Turning on the drama as he’d never done before, McCarthy prepared to go for the jugular. Only he took a wrong turn, and it was his OWN jugular that took a hit. McCarthy, trying to look like he had anything worth saying, asked his audience.

“Is America better off today than they were two years ago?” Oh no, Kevin — no, no. Yes, I’m afraid this actually happened. And faster than one could say, “you will never be House Speaker,” Twitter exploded.

Usually, I list comments from Twitter users in articles like this. But so many of these comments were one-word answers — the SAME word that I will let that word speak for itself. Twitter — “YES”

You see, McCarthy does not think before he speaks. He seems to have forgotten where this country actually WAS two years ago.

Kevin McCarthy does not like being mocked. But sadly for him, the mocking is going on as I write these words. McCarthy appeared to be trying to recreate the Ronald Reagan moment where Reagan asked this question during a 1980 debate with Jimmy Carter.

Only Kevin McCarthy is no Reagan. Look, I’m not a fan of Reagan, but he did know how to speak publicly. Kevin McCarthy does not. There does not appear to be much McCarthy DOES know how to do except babble. And this particular Kevin babble resulted in his humiliation – again.
