Republican Party’s official Twitter account posts rant about schools, misspells word

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We’ll say this for the Republican Party: throughout the pandemic era, it’s consistently done nothing to help anyone, while consistently making dishonest accusations about those who have been trying to help. Now that President Biden is quickly and competently fixing Donald Trump’s pandemic mess, the GOP thinks its job is to complain.

For instance, after Trump’s pandemic ineptitude kept schools closed for the better part of a year, the Biden administration is now taking concrete steps to get schools safely reopened, including vaccinating teachers. But the Republican Party isn’t happy about Biden’s success, so it posted this tweet from its official GOP account today:

“Keeping schools closed has DEVESTATING effects on the mental health, social and economic situation, and academic achievement of America’s children. The science is in – schools can safely reopen!”

Okay, so there are a couple problems here. First, it was the Trump regime that screwed up the pandemic so badly, schools had to be closed. Second, “DEVESTATING” isn’t a word. Maybe they meant “DEVASTATING.” If you’re going to use a big word, you should learn how to spell it. And if you’re going to misspell a word, you shouldn’t put it in all caps.
