Everyone piles on after Donald Trump posts insane tweet about the “Black Community”
Donald Trump only cares about the black community insofar as much as he cares about scapegoating them and trying to stir up racial division. Yet Trump nonetheless occasionally tries to pander to the black community, perhaps only in the hope of conning white conservatives into believing he isn’t a racist.
Trump posted this bizarre tweet today: My Admin has done more for the Black Community than any President since Abraham Lincoln. Passed Opportunity Zones with @SenatorTimScott, guaranteed funding for HBCU’s, School Choice, passed Criminal Justice Reform, lowest Black unemployment, poverty, and crime rates in history… AND THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
Let’s just say that most of the replies weren’t positive. Various people were quick to point out that Donald Trump promoted the racist “birther” lie that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States. Trump has also repeatedly cursed out black football players, questioned their intelligence, and called for them to lose their jobs. And Trump called for the Central Park Five to receive the death penalty, even though they were innocent.
