If you were on criminal trial and in danger of being convicted and sent to prison, you’d be paying plenty of attention, right? Anyone would. Unless they’re so far gone cognitively that they can’t figure out how to pay attention or remember why they’re there. This brings us to Donald Trump.

According to reporters Maggie Haberman and Susanne Craig, Donald Trump appeared to nod off and fall asleep during his criminal trial today. This was on a day when rulings were being made that set the scope of the trial, and the rules for jury selection.

Yet while this was going on, Trump was either asleep or mostly asleep. He’s way too far gone to participate in his own defense or even understand what’s going on. Trump is a cognitive goner. But that won’t keep him from being convicted.
