Everyone piles on after disastrous #GOPResponse from Katie Britt
The response to the State of the Union is where aspiring political careers generally go to die – particularly when they’re given by a Republican. There was Marco “water bottle” Rubio. There was whatever Bobby Jindal thought he was talking about. There was the woman with the bread bags on her feet. You’d think it couldn’t get any worse. But then Katie Britt stepped to the plate.
Who is Katie Britt? She’s a U.S. Senator from Alabama who’s been in office for more than a year but had been keeping a low national profile until now. Suffice it to say that she’d have been better off retaining that low profile.
Katie Britt’s response tonight is widely being regarded on social media as the worst SOTU response of all time. Her name is trending, as are the names of Rubio and Jindal, as everyone piles on about how Britt was somehow able to come off as even more embarrassing than her predecessors.
Of course these days there simply are no rising stars within the Republican Party, only creepy weirdos and Trump loyalists and extremists, and well, morons like Katie Britt.
