Even Trump world is admitting that today’s hearing is burying Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. If you were looking for a sign of just how poorly today’s DOJ-themed January 6th public hearing would go Donald Trump, just hours before it began, the news broke that the DOJ had raided the home of former Trump DOJ official Jeffrey Clark. Then the hearing proceeded to spell out how Clark and Trump conspired to try to overthrow the 2020 election.

If the prior hearings made clear that Trump was in serious legal trouble, today’s DOJ testimony – along with the Clark raid – made clear that Trump will almost certainly end up criminally charged by the DOJ.

Even New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, who has long been accused of acting as a Trump mouthpiece, tweeted this near the end of today’s hearings: “Have heard from several former Trump advisers acknowledging this testimony is quite grim.”

Given what was already publicly known and reported heading into these hearings, and the fierceness the January 6th Committee has shown throughout its probe, it was difficult to imagine that these public hearings would go any other way than how they’re going. But even though these hearings aren’t particularly surprising, the totality of what’s being presented is adding up to more than the sum of its parts.
