Even Karl Rove is admitting it

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

While the Biden classified docs story is largely a nonstory that no one outside of Trump’s base cares about, what matters to the media is the extent of ratings they can get out of the story and how much the GOP can fundraise off of it. The problem is that the story is dying much more rapidly than right-wingers anticipated. Obviously, the degree of what these classified documents contains isn’t all that consequential, since Joe Biden was vice president when the documents were taken – and the VP has a lower security clearance level than the president does.

That’s a big reason why the National Archives wasn’t even aware of the documents that were missing when President Biden’s lawyers notified them. In addition, there were only about ten documents in Biden’s case, as opposed to the hundreds of documents that were retrieved by the FBI at Mar a Lago.

Surprisingly, much of this information was dispersed by none other than Fox News itself when they brought on master right-wing propagandist Karl Rove as a guest. Rather than foment a controversy out of nothing as he has regularly done, Rove rightfully pointed out that the former guy’s case is much more serious and could have much more severe consequences.

His host didn’t exactly want him to go this way, but Rove did. The likeliest scenario is that Rove, like much of the GOP old guard, is ready to move on from Trump – because they know if he’s the standard bearer come 2024, the party will be destroyed in embarrassing fashion yet again.
