Even Fox News just stuck it to Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s daily press conferences are such a self-promotional farce, and so full of dangerous false information, the TV networks have been unsure about how to approach them. The past few days the briefings have gotten so bad, the cable news networks have begun cutting them off, in a manner almost resembling X-Factor judges hitting the buzzer.
For instance, when Trump’s press briefing began yesterday, CNN refused to start airing it until Trump was done talking and a doctor had taken his place. CNN and MSNBC both ended up cutting away from the debacle before it was over. Today we saw CNN and MSNBC both begin airing it from the start, but MSNBC cut away the second Jared Kushner began speaking, only to go back after he was done. By the time today’s briefing was over, all three networks had cut away from it.
That’s right, even Fox News pulled the plug on Donald Trump’s briefing in the end. Fox cut away for a town hall event that was already on the schedule; there’s no way to know for sure if Fox would have cut away otherwise. But the bottom line is that Trump’s briefings have become such an unfunny joke during this deadly crisis, even Fox News is no longer bothering to air them in full.
