Even for Rand Paul this is completely deranged

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The world we live in has changed significantly in the last decade or two. The internet and technology now rule the day. Even small children often have iPhones. And while technology is often a good thing, there are some terrible aspects of having all this pulsing technology at our very fingertips.

One such thing is the ability of people to become emboldened. Many have used the advancement of technology to let their worst selves come roaring out. These people have used our evolving technology to garner adoration and weaponize it against people they perceive as enemies.

Finding decency in the upside-down, alternate world of computers has become increasingly difficult. It’s tough to watch decency and goodness come under attack by ignorance and hate. The feud between Senator Rand Paul and Dr. Anthony Fauci was in part moved along by technology. Paul was able to garner like-minded people — partners in hate — to go after Dr. Fauci. Paul was also able to fund-raise off this hate.

And Dr. Fauci is the epitome of decency. He’s a shining light — here for all of us. But sadly, he’s had threats as a result of Republican manufactured rage — much of it by Paul. And now Rand Paul is doing it again — and his latest comments should make all of us take notice.

Rand Paul has come out and said that if Republicans take back the Senate in the midterms, one of the things on their to-do list is launching an investigation into Dr. Fauci. Paul promises that if the Insurrection party wins, “we’ll go after every one of Fauci’s records.” This was said in an interview with an anti-vaxer by the name of Lisa Boothe, who has a podcast.

So let Paul’s words be a warning of what the GOP intends to do if they win. They won’t help the American people. Ha! Who needs that? What they will do is continue to weaponize hate in going after a decent and heroic man who has already suffered greatly. This is yet another reason why we need to triumph — and we will — in the midterm elections.
