Even for Mitch McConnell, this is outrageous

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Mitch McConnell is looking to severely cap the next stimulus. Forbes quoted McConnell as saying, “I think the people who have been hit the hardest are the people who make $40,000 a year or less.” Once again, a Republican shows that he is out of touch with reality. If he believes $50,000 or even $60,000 is that much more than $40,000, he is delusional. Of course, when you are worth millions, all three figures are proverbial drops in the bucket. McConnell’s move is nothing more than Republicans’ continued efforts to decimate the middle class to create two classes: poor and rich, and that includes small businesses. Let us look at some of the companies that received PPP loans.

Daily Beast reported that Kanye West’s company Yeezy, LLC received between $2 and $5 million. West is the manager of the company, and his premier product, the Yeezy sneaker, earned $1.5 billion in 2019. West brags that his wife Kim Kardashian also recently reached “billionaire” status. Anyone with eyes can see how these two live. Yet they suddenly do not have enough money to run their empires? That sounds like a personal problem. West’s billionaire status was confirmed by Forbes, and the two of them should have easily been able to compensate the allegedly 160 employees they claimed the loans would help them retain. It sounds like a lot of bullshit.

Another Trump crony who received loans was—you guessed it — Jared Kushner’s companies. Daily Beast reported that Observer Holdings LLC received $350,000 to $1 million. While Kushner allegedly stepped down from his ownership role when he went into the White House, his brother-in-law now owns it. It took all this money to retain 41 employees. They must be 41 well-paid employees. Meyer is not the only member of Kushner’s family to benefit. Two of the family’s hotels also received funds of $1 to $2 million, which were paid to the parent company Princeton Forrestal LLC, while its sister organization—which owns the land on which the hotels sit—received $350,000 to $1 million. Kushner Companies’ COO Peter Febo claims the funds went to furloughed employees, but it is difficult to believe anything that comes from these grifters’ mouths.

Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller received $1 million, and Newsmax — owned by Trump pal Christopher Ruddy — received from $2 to $5 million. The list is endless, yet McConnell wants to shortchange taxpayers, leading one to wonder whether his wife will be the recipient of another loan this time around.

These people have no interest in government other than what they can milk from it. We not only need a change in the White House, but we need drastic change across government. Term limits can begin the process. If we sit idly by while these people continue to rob the tax coffers, we will all be living in shanties by the side of the road while they continue to grow their bank accounts from our labor. It sounds eerily like slavery.
