Even for Mike Johnson this is unhinged

Not that long ago, several outlets discussed how Trump would get his tax cuts for the rich by having the Republican Congress take from the poor to give to the rich. That prediction is absolutely coming to pass. Musk had no right dickering around in Social Security. He has now made it almost impossible to work as it should. Every day, we’re hearing something cryptic about Social Security, and the Daily Beast just made it worse with their headline: “DOGE Goons Cause Major Crash to Social Security Site.”

The Daily Beast reported yet another tech screw-up by DOGE, which prevented people from accessing the site online. DOGE launched untested software, and “boom.” These kids (a group of six all under the age of 26 except the 19-year-old college freshman) hired by Musk are not as tech savvy as Musk claimed. Social Security recipients are, as they should be, afraid-afraid of getting their payments and afraid the system will never work again. Some even claim their information is missing. Why is this happening? According to the Washington Post, it has to do with new software for an expanded fraud system created by DOGE. They also failed to test it when millions of people are online. I guess we can tell them it doesn’t work now. While Social Security recipients are not classified as “poor,” they are among the most vulnerable in society. For “poor,” we turn to Medicaid.”

Mike Johnson is heading the “cut Medicaid” charge, and in his own backyard, people are worried. CBS News spoke with some people in Mansfield, LA who have a real concern about potential Medicaid cuts. CBS pointed out that the Medicaid health program covers 1 in 5 Americans. In Mansfield, the hospital serving that community is Desoto Regional Health System. Just last year, they took out a $36 million loan to renovate the hospital, which opened in 1952 and badly needed renovation. Desoto CEO Todd Eppler believes that proposed cuts to Medicaid “could make it harder for this hospital to repay the loans and for patients to access care.” He told CBS: “I just hope that the people who are making these decisions have thought deeply about it and have some context of the real-world implications because it’s going to affect us as a hospital and going to affect our patients.” I hate to tell Mr. Todd, but they have thought very clearly that the money is better spent when it is placed in the pockets of those who already have so much. While Todd (foolishly) believes that Republicans “don’t want to hurt rural hospitals,” it is obvious that they could care less.

Cutting Medicaid in Johnson’s own district will have a great impact when looking at the numbers. Last year, almost 290,000 in Johnson’s district enrolled in Medicaid, which is 38% of the population. Approximately 118,000 got into the program via the ACA (which Republicans also hope to kill). Does Mike Johnson care if people in his district suffer? Not in the least. Neither do the other Republicans care about their constituents. They are shameless.
